One of the most frequently asked questions we receive is how much money PR girl’s make. This is a complicated question because it depends on several different factors including your city, position, years of experience and type of firm/agency. While there’s no correct answer, there are some averages to go off of based on position. These are also taken from the PRSA averages.
Intern: no pay, $10-$12/hour
Account Coordinator: $35,000-$40,000
Assistant Account Executive: $40,000-$45,000
Account Executive: $45,000-$50,000
Senior Account Executive: $50,000-$60,000
Account Supervisor: $60,000-$70,000
If you’re looking to get into PR, don’t be afraid to ask an HR representative salary questions. We all know PR isn’t the highest paying career but it’s worth the struggle to do what you love.
Based on your experience, do these averages seem accurate?

We’re in Milwaukee and our salaries are slightly lower than that … I’m an Acct Supervisor but fall in the Senior Acct Exec range. I also only have six years of experience out of college, though, and feel I’ve been able to rise through the ranks rather quickly.
We also have lots of perks and incredible flexibility here, which for me is very important as I have kids and work to maintain a balance between work and family. I could probably make more money elsewhere, but I’m not willing to give up the flexibility and perks of my current job. Plus I really enjoy what I do here!
