Between celebrating the Royal Wedding and the couture creations at the Met Gala, the last week has been anything but lacking in fashion fabulousness. Believe it or not, I’m still coming off my glamor high in need of another fix. Thankfully the Met unveiled the ‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty’ exhibit this week, where even a commoner like myself can get a dose of high fashion at its finest.
From now until July 31, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is featuring the McQueen exhibit organized by the Costume Institute in celebration of the late designer’s extraordinary contributions to fashion. ‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty‘ displays approximately one hundred samples from his postgraduate collection of 1992, and his final runway presentation which took place after his death in February 2010. Each gown is more fabulous and ornate than the next, exemplifying the creative magnitude of this designer who boldly challenged our definition of beauty.
Will you be visiting Savage Beauty? Which McQueen creation are you most anxious to see?
