Finding a New Apartment

Two years ago, (I can’t believe it’s been two years, eek) I moved from the city to Hoboken. I didn’t know at the time if I was making a good decision or not – moving from a one bedroom on the Upper East Side to a two bedroom across the river in Hoboken.

Finding a New Apartment

Turns out, it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I found a great roommate and fell in love with the small city. A few weeks ago my roommate told me that she was taking a job abroad and moving the end of November. So now the apartment search begins.

I’ve been going back and forth yet again – find a one bedroom in Hoboken or move back to the city? Move in with a roommate and risk living with a crazy person or live alone? I really do love Hoboken and want to stay, but the one bedroom prices have soared. A majority cost even more than those in the city. I’ve been checking Craiglist every couple of hours and it’s starting to drive me a bit insane.

What have you found to be the easiest way to find a new apartment? How did you decide where to live?
