April is over (already?!), so it’s time to pull together some of the best PR tips from Twitter this month. Thanks to all of the contributors and be sure to follow them on Twitter.
@shoppingscardio: Editors are adults. We can handle a “no”. Radio silence is inconsiderate & makes us hate your brand.
@dkny: When typing an impt email, NEVER fill in the “to” section until after you are sure it perfect.
@MrPrama: Always L.E.A.D., meaning, ‘œListen, Experience, Ask, and Dare.’
@handbago: When working with a client, have THE BEST knowledge of their brand so that you can provide the best target audience.
@missellePR: Obtain a LinkedIn account and don’t only follow classmates. It is okay to request HR heads at companies and others.
@MarigoPR: Don’t be fearful of what is ahead. Embrace it and ONLY expect the best, and you shall have it.
@MrPrama: As long as you believe in the client, and you deliver on my promises, their and your integrity is intact.
@StyleRepublic: Never assume.
@ollie_lloyd: Don’t tell your client you’ve secured a sponsor when there’s no confirmation FROM the sponsor. Like, hello!
@ABinNYC: Emails are not optimal for going over strategy and tactics. FYI.
Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter as well @nycprgirls for more PR tips.

Love the L.E.A.D. acronym
So do we! Xx
I adopted this tip a few years ago: “When typing an impt email, NEVER fill in the ‘œto’ section until after you are sure it’s perfect.”
It has saved me so many times from accidentally sending something unedited or without an attachment. Even though it’s small it’s embarrassing and you never know how the recipient will react.
So true! I’m sure we’ve all had some CLOSE calls hitting the send button way to quickly…
Thanks for commenting! Xx
