PR Twitter Tips: May 2014

Happy June! This past month was filled with great #PR101 Twitter Tips. Thanks to all that tweeted. Here are our favorites.

: Always have a concise, value-driven message

: Find an expert for your campaign. Media are always on the prowl for sources that can add body and expertise to a story.

: Media contacts are everything. It’s not what you know, it’s WHO you know.

: Are you guilty of boring subject lines? Like (fill in the blank) news & events. Nothing useful there. Do better!

: Attract the relevant people in the industry that you would like you and your brand to be associated with.

: Build relationships with reporters and increase the likelihood of future coverage by thanking them on social media

: When you see a chance, take it. Because it won’t come around twice.

: PR work is extremely diverse and always changing.

: Success= Cultivating, Integrating… not just maintaining.

: “Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.” – Bill Gates

: Personalize your communications. No one wants to be part of a copy/paste campaign.

: Know what is newsworthy. Not everything put out is relevant to your brand.

: Don’t underestimate the power of ‘following-up’, it’s often as important as your initial pitch.
