Last night, I caught up with a girlfriend from high school and headed to the Rent the Runway shopping event at Yigal Azrouël’s boutique. Known for his feminine draping, Azrouël designed an exclusive (adorable) scarf for Rent the Runway, a site that allows you to rent your dream wardrobe for nearly 90% off retail prices. This even includes Azrouël’s pieces. The event was filled with shopping, Champagne, delicious macaroons and an appearance from the designer himself.
The boutique is a must stop, located in the heart of the Meatpacking District at 408 W. 14th St near Ninth Ave. While wondering the store, I couldn’t help but be captivated by his new contemporary collection Cut25 and the colorful scarfs that make for great statement pieces in the spring.
So does Rent the Runway sound too good to be true? It’s not. I’ve had several girlfriends try the site and be nothing but pleased. Considering I have two weddings coming up this year, I’m thinking it’s worth a try.
Are there any designer duds in particular you’re dying to “rent”?
