I’m the first to admit that reading is not one of my favorite activities. However, when I do get in the mood to sit down and open a book, reading about the public relations industry always sparks my interest. Whether it’s educational, fictional or autobiographical, learning from other people’s experiences is such a large part of our personal growth.
- Putting the Public Back in Public Relations by Brian Solis: discusses the evolution of the PR world.
- Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger: fiction novel about a single PR girl in NYC. Hmm…sounds familiar.
- If You Have to Cry, Go Outside by Kelly Cutrone: as raw as its title, get an inside look at the PR machine.
Have you read any other PR books lately?

Check out Groundswell; by Li & Bernoff. Considering how fast social media changes, it is a little dates (published in ’07 or ’08). It’s basically a how-to on social media being used by brands, individuals, organizations, etc. Very case study heavy, but you definitely get the point afterwards. Check it out!
